About Jo Condon Autism Assessments

At Jo Condon Autism Assessments, we understand our job as more than just autism assessments - it’s about helping people recognise their identity, validating lived experiences, and ensuring individuals and families move forward with confidence.

Our team brings together decades of combined clinical experience and research in autism assessment across NHS and private settings. Each clinician is deeply committed to delivering thorough, evidence-based assessments while ensuring every person we work with feels heard, respected, and understood.

We specialise in providing gold-standard assessments for children, young people, and adults, following recognised NICE diagnostic frameworks. But what truly sets us apart is how we do it - with compassion, clarity, and genuine care at every step.
Start Your Assessment

Why Jo Condon autism assessment Was Founded

Jo started Jo Condon Autism Assessments because she wanted to protect something that she felt other autism services were losing sight of – quality.

In many other autism services, assessments were becoming more rushed and less personalised, especially within services delivering NHS contracts and Right to Choose assessments. Adults are often only offered the opportunity to be seen remotely, and children under 9 are inappropriately being assessed online. Many services are unable to offer assessments to children under 6 because they lack the appropriate expertise.

Jo was also aware that in some services people were unnecessarily being declined an assessment for autism for various reasons, such as having a complex history, the school not recognising autism characteristics or the person not having an informant who knew them in childhood.

Jo felt strongly that this was not good enough.

An autism assessment should be a thoughtful, careful process. A process through which people are supported and feel listened to, understood, and respected.

Jo believes that your diagnostic report should accurately reflect the person being assessed and be written by clinicians rather than by AI software.

She wanted to create a service where staff take the time to do things properly. We offer face-to-face appointments for all ages at our clinics because we know it is important for many people to feel comfortable and fully seen. Equally, for those who do not feel comfortable travelling to the clinic, we offer fully online assessment options – but only for those aged 10 and over. We prioritise getting to know the person, not just completing a checklist.

At the heart of the service is a commitment to individualised care. Every person’s profile is different, and our approach reflects that. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Our clients are supported by friendly assessment coordinators from the first contact, and we communicate with you in the way you prefer.

Jo also wanted to create a place where clinicians feel supported. When professionals are given the time, supervision, and respect they need, they can deliver better, more thoughtful assessments. Supporting staff is not separate from quality, it is essential to it.

Ultimately, Jo Condon Autism Assessments was built to offer something better: a service that values people, protects clinical standards, and delivers assessments with care, depth, and integrity

What Clients Say About Us

Families and adults often come to us at an important point in their lives. Our clients regularly highlight the clarity of our reports, the responsiveness of our team and the care shown throughout the assessment process.

Jo and the team have been amazing. Helping to answer any question with such empathy and precision. The journey through the assessment was timely, with a less than a week between each stage. Our dedicated coordinator (Leoni) really was an exceptional person with handling both correspondence and appointments. Using Jo Condon assessments was truly exceptional. The report received at the end included such detail, that only somebody with vast experience and understanding would be able to provide.

I am an autism specialist with over 20 years experience. I chose to have my own children diagnosed by Jo’s team. I made the right decision. The clinicians are amazing and the reports were excellent too. I’ve since recommended this service to close family and friends. I would not recommend any other service.
Worth every penny.

Highly recommend Jo Condon Autism Assessments. We decided to use them after recommendations from our school as they are NHS & Local Authority approved. Fantastic team of professionals. So understanding & caring. They supported us all really well during the process. This has given our 14 year old daughter the validation and a better understanding of why she struggles and feels different to her peers. We thank everyone at Jo Condon for the beginning part of our daughter’s new journey in her life.
